Broken Face Makeup

Welcome back! Today, I bring you my latest YouTube tutorial Broken Face Makeup.

As some of you may know, I teach makeup. I’ve been teaching for 8 years now and I love it! Teaching was a scary thought at first, but once I started it quickly became my passion.

The class has many different categories, but one of my favorites is face painting. When I create a new face paint, to me it’s like creating a new character.

Years ago I create a broken face makeup , I was remembering this the other day and I thought to my self: Self.. you need to recreate this asap. So I did.

This new Broken Face Makeup, I decided to look at various pictures for inspiration. When I started I looked at different makeup artist, my old one and pictures of broken dolls and windows.

Enjoy this tutorial, I enjoyed making it. I wasn’t planning on making it a tutorial, that is why is such low quality. Usually I film with my Canon T3I, but I was just doing this for fun so I recorded it with my Iphone7. When I was done, I liked the finished product and thus I had to share it!

Just for you Beauty Addicts, here is a list of the items used to create this look.

Items:

Fabb paint in black by Sillyfarm is what I used to create the lines and their white to create the highlight.

For eye shadows I used the Wong Cosmetics 35D palette I also used it to create shadows on the the cracks, and Ofra Cosmetics eye shadows for the teal .
Eyebrow gel and my  Invincible foundation are from Nyx Cosmetics.

The blue eyeliner and powder palette which I use for contouring as well, are from OP Makeup Studio.

For the blackest  eyeliner I always use Tarte Cosmetics tartiest eyeliner.
You have to add a little glitter eyeliner, I chose the LA Splash one.
To get color in my cheeks I used the Makeup Geek blush in bliss

An SFX Story

If you don’t know by now, I’ll tell ya… I’m a makeup instructor. One of my favorite things to teach is Special Effects Makeup. The reason I love teaching this subject is because to me it is what I think makeup is, which to me is; the magic of transformation! Transformation can be seen in simple day to day makeup, but when you use Special FX you can completely change a person into someone else like magic.. And I love that!

This week I’ve been teaching SFX Makeup, and I wanted to share some of the fun products
I work with:
  • We use the very exotic tissue paper..what?!?! Yes we use this with latex and create creepy skin.
  • Sponges (non latex) these sponges are essential to use with liquid latex because the liquid latex won’t eat them.
  • Stipple sponge.. we use these to create scrapes and other cool effects.
  • Q tips, from cleaning edges to adding color, these bad boys are useful.
  • Liquid latex will be your best friend (if you aren’t allergic) you can build and rip and with this product to create realistic skin.
  • Liquid blood is the best finishing touch to make a wound, burn, cut and flesh eating zombie look realistic.
  •  Black creme color. I use this to give depth.
  • My favorite product to use is 3rd degree. This is a silicone 2 part product. When combined you have ten minutes to mold and shape into what you want it to be and it harden that way.
  • Another favorite not shown here,  is thick blood. It’s a gel like blood with many uses.

Sag Awards

Hello Beautty Addicts!
Award season is so exciting! Sunday night was the SAG Awards.
Everyone looked so happy everyone looked beautiful.
The first thing I notice, the trend of the night is pink lipstick and I love it.
I’ve already jumped on the bandwagon and bought myself a beautiful pink lipstick. If you’ve notice, the color  is bright pink and matt, giving everyone wears it, a very glamorous look.
The first actor that I saw go up was Nicole Kidman.
She looked stunning her eye shadow was beautiful and so is the rest of her makeup.
Next came Anne Hathaway…..
May I just say perfection! From her hair to her makeup and that beautiful dress, to me she looks like what an actress should look like.
Kerry Washington
looks beautiful, very pretty and Loved the smokey eye.
Julianne Moore
looked very beautiful, her cheeks were very  pronounced & beautiful pink lips.
Tina Fey
She looked incredible. Her hair makeup & dress screamed I’m a Hollywood actress.
Sofia Vergara
She looked amazing as usual, I wish she would do more with her eyes, but she look great anyways.
Amy Poehler
She looked soo good! Again …. rocking the pink lips my only suggestion would be Thicker eyebrows.. Other than that she looks great.
Clair Danes
To me she did look very well put together, but the makeup she was wearing didnt flatter her, it made her look tired.
Jennifer Lawrence
She looked Beautiful and classic.
Viola Davis
Looked completely amazing. Her beautiful smokey eyes made her eyes look super sexy.

Overall so many actors and actresses looked completely amazing Sunday night, these were just  the ones that stood out for me.
If  I had to vote on my absolute favorite actress makeup and look for that night…. it would have to be
Anne Hathaway
for me, she took the cake!
Who was your favorite? What was your favorite moment of the night?
Hope to hear from all of you Beauty Addicts!

Eyeliner Tips & Tricks

Hello Beauty Addicts!!!
The question I’m most frequently ask is:
How do you apply your eyeliner?
Followed by:
How do you make it last all day?
Which bring me to creating this post!
Eyeliner is one of the most flattering things you can achieve with makeup, Eyeliner can make your eye look:
Lifted
Awake
Larger
Smaller
Seductive
Conservative
and the list goes on and on!
So how do I apply my eyeliner? I’ll tell you, first you need to know my favorite type of eyeliner to use is Gel Eyeliner, It has the most smooth application and the darkest pigmentation.
People always say to me when I tell them that, that they don’t know how to apply it, they’ve only used pencil or liquid. Well I’m here to tell you that you are over thinking it! It’s just as simple, all you need is to find the right brush!
here are some examples:
Flat Eyeliner brush                                               Thin Eyeliner brush (perfect for liquid)

My two favorites:
Round tip eyeliner brush                                                                                 Angled eyeliner brush
I think for beginners the bottom 2 are perfect, the round tip would be perfect for those pencil user, and the angled just gives you an advantage because of it’s shape.
I start my eyeliner on the outer corner of the eye and take it up as high as I want it
Then from the top of that line I go down on an angle, making it thinner to about the middle of the eye
then I start again at the inner corner of the eye until it meets up with the rest of the line

and then you should have a perfect Eyeliner with a bit of a cat eye. The higher you take the first line, the cattier the eyeliner.
For the second question (how do I make it last) it comes down to two things, either the brand of eyeliner or by setting the eyeliner. Some brands of eyeliner are great and will make it last all day (my favorite brands will be at the bottom of the post)! some not so much but once you set it, it shouldn’t go anywhere.
How to set it:
Here are 2 ways to set an eyeliner.
#1. after you apply your eyeliner, take your brush and dip it on a black eye shadow (or whatever color you are using)
Then go over the line with the powder.
That will set the cream, gel, liquid or pencil, and should make it last longer.
or you can buy and eyeliner sealer
These work the same way and there’s two ways of using them.
You can do just like I said above (dip the brush and then go over the line) or dip the brush on the sealer then on an eye shadow and then create the line. That’s perfect for people who don’t have many eyeliners and want to try different colors.
Now (as every makeup artist does) I have my favorite brands for smudge proof, water proof eyeliners:
L’Oreal has one of my favorite gel liners around $9.99
you can find it at Walgreens, CVS, Ulta, and some supermarkets.
Inglot lasts all day and come in a variety of colors! They have Inglot store here in FL at Aventura Mall and in downtown Miami and it cost about $14.00
Milani is the one I use everyday! because is extreamly waterproof , some may not like that but I love it!
you can also find it at Walgreens, CVS, Ulta, and some supermarkets for only $6.00
Make Up Forever, one of the leaders in makeup, has an eyeliner that is smooth and long lasting.
you can find this at Makeupforever.com or at spehora and it cost $18
And last but not least Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners. Long lasting and smooth! available at Urbandecay.com & Sephoras for $19.00
I hope these tips, tricks, pictures and websites have helped you!
I would love to hear from you!!!

What’s your favorite Eyeliner?
Have you bought any of these? did you like it?
Send me pictures of how your eyeliner came out after you tried my way, I would love to see it!!
Once again thank you Beauty Addicts!
